Suitable for -
We are looking for a volunteer craft worker to join our team, to support vunerable adults with developing their craft and textile skills, to make a range of handmade homewares. You would work alongside staff to assist our customers to gain skills in craft and textile, to supervise and ensure they use tools correctly to successfully create items which are ordered, sold at markets and events and bought by the general public. You will receive the same training and support as our staff.
An awareness of the needs an adult with learning difficulties might have • Willing to share skills and experience with others • Someone with patience and is a good listener • Someone willing to attend training • To undertake a DBS check All volunteers would have to undertake a DBS process (criminal records check). This requires being able to supply two references and certain documentation such as a birth certificate, driving license or passport. Volunteers must be aged 18 years or over.
The Skills and Enterprise Hub runs daily Monday-Friday 9.00am-4.00pm. We are looking for people who can help for a minimum of half a day a week during these times.
