Moonstruck Astronaut is a not-for-profit community theatre company based in Newport, Shropshire.  Our mission is to bring the local community of Newport, Shropshire together through theatre projects and foster friendship, self-expression, belonging and confidence, first with our primary-school age children, then extending to young people and adults in time.

We have started running a Youth Theatre in Newport and continue to run outdoor Drama in the Forest workshops. 

We are seeking volunteers to join our passionate team and help Moonstruck Astronaut community Theatre Company succeed in filling the gap in supporting local children’s creative development.

Volunteers have to be 16 years or over. There is no upper age limit.

Moonstruck Astronaut community theatre company is seeking to recruit Drama workshop assistant volunteers for the ‘Summer Drama in the Forest’ week-long outdoor workshop for 6-12 year olds to be held at Wrekin Forest School, Crudginton Moor Lane, Telford, TF6 6EE on the 8th – 12th August.

Times 8.30am – 4pm

Role description:

To support Head workshop leader, Deputy Workshop leader and each other to facilitate the project where 16-20 children will be taught drama skills.

Main duties:

-Volunteers are to support the mini play development when the children work in small groups, acting as a facilitator

- Help facilitate drama games and exercises

- Offer input, lead whole group warm ups, cool downs, lead drama games if would like to

- Provide feedback to the team at the end of the day

- Assist all children in having a great time

- Support the fun, inclusive and safe collaborative environment, enabling participants to co-create enjoyable outdoors theatre.

Role Purpose:

To support Small Woods’ new Giftware Shop as a retail sales assistant.

To act as an information point for The Green Wood Centre Site.

To promote Small Woods membership to interested members of the public/customers.

Main tasks: (All necessary training will be provided)

- To process customer purchases using ‘Square-up’ system and/or cash.

- To maintain accurate records and undertake ‘end of day’ procedures for sales

- To ensure shop displays are topped up, refreshed and well-presented.

- To act as a focal point for people requiring basic information about Small Woods and the Green Wood Centre site. To hand out leaflets as required

- To discuss the benefits of becoming a member of the Small Woods Association and to promote membership where appropriate.

Bardet-Biedl Syndrome (BBS) is a rare genetic disorder causing blindness, learning disability, obesity and many other symptoms. BBS UK is the only UK charity supporting those with BBS and is committed to promoting positive health and wellbeing within the BBS community.

We do this by providing a range of support, information and advocacy services ensuring that those who contact us are supported, connected and informed about BBS and empowered to achieve the best possible outcome BBS UK is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and are looking for trustees who bring a range of experiences and skills to complement our team.

We are a volunteer Theatre Group who have been running for two years. we are based at Arleston Community Centre. We aim to give Youth the opportunity to experience drama.

We meet on a Tuesday evenings and aim to give experience of drama that is both enjoyable and relaxing for 8-18 year olds. We endeavour to perform two plays a year for both the younger and older Youth group.

We are looking for people who are energetic and fun loving who can help with sessions, work as a team and respect everyone’s strengths and weaknesses.
These placements are hard work but rewarding and we need dedicated people who take their roles seriously. We have all procedures and processes in place and work to strict Child Protection Policies.

An opportunity has arisen for a Youth Theatre Leader / Assistant  to work  with Watch this Space Youth Theatre . The position is to work with Youth of ages ranging from 8-18 who would like to experience drama.
