Why we need your help:

As a confident public speaker, you will be out and about giving talks about the charity and explaining what we do.  Whether speaking to local clubs, associations or schools, you will ensure local people know about the vital support we provide as well as helping to increase volunteering and fundraising for the charity.

What we need you to do:

Become familiar with the work of RABC in your local area in particular.

Research and book talks with organisations which welcome outside speakers at meetings.

Liaise with your local Community Engagement Manager with regard to new and/or existing contacts in the community.

Deliver engaging and motivational talks using prepared scripts as guides.

Pass nay donations and expressions of interest in supporting RABC back to your local Community Engagement Manager as quickly as possible.

Keep a record of approaches made and talks given and occasionally represent the charity at local events and cheque presentations.

Online Listings Volunteer

Can you help your local British Heart Foundation shop in Wellington?

Online selling is a fast growing and exciting way to retail in the digital age, so if you would like to get involved in this, come join us at your local BHF shop and help create online sales listings to promote the varied items that we sell.

Maybe you already know your way around online selling platforms or maybe it’s something you want to find out more about, either way you will be fully supported in this role to make sure you develop the skills and experience needed to become an expert online Lister.

Get the satisfaction of seeing the items you list sell for the best possible prices, knowing this will be helping us continue to fund lifesaving research.

We can accept volunteers from age 16.

We can reimburse reasonable travelling expenses and we provide tea, coffee and biscuits.

We are open 9.30am to 5pm Monday to Saturday

We are looking for volunteers who are passionate about supporting children and young people understand their early history and journey as well as their cultural identity.

 Life Story Work volunteers will assist the Life Story Work team to undertake direct and indirect life story work and promote the identity work for all our children who are looked after, across Children’s Services.

Life Story Work can be used to help children and young people in very difficult circumstances, understand what is happening to them in more depth, express their feelings, contribute to decision making and share their story with others.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Volunteer will support the team with the delivery and indirect life story work to children and young people.

Supporting the team to ensure children understand their journey before care, into care and throughout to promote their identity.

Volunteer will work directly with children and young people to understand their care journey and promote their identity.

Time commitment:

Flexible based on individuals’ requirements.

Location:

Darby House, Lawn Central, Telford TF3 4JA.

As a volunteer with Telford & Wrekin Children’s Safeguarding & Family Support Service, you will be supporting children and families across the borough to achieve better outcomes.

Our volunteers bring many benefits, including different skills, diverse life experiences and an understanding of their local communities.

Training:

All our volunteers undertake safeguarding training which allows us to safeguard the children, young people, adults and families we support as well as protecting the volunteers themselves.

We will also provide role specific training and supervision to all our volunteers.

Where possible, we match volunteers to service users based on needs and interests. Underpinning our approach is a commitment to positive and professional relationships between staff, volunteers and service users to achieve lasting impact.

We offer support, information, and friendship to people living with Parkinson's, their families, and carers. Support group meetings held on the last Tuesday of every month 1-3 pm. (except Aug) at Hadley Community Centre 30 High Street Hadley Telford TF1 5NL, Telford, TF1 5NL.

Tasks

This is a totally new venture and the person would be given free reign to design the website and the newsletter with input from the committee and the members as to what information they wish to be Imparted on the website and in the newsletters, which would serve as both information for members regarding event and activities and as a portal for new members to understand how the group runs and what we offer.

This volunteer could be based anywhere in the UK, working from home. There would be a requirement to attend any development meetings by Zoom ( or similar) and in person attendance at Telford 3 times a year
