We are recruiting for three voluntary Trustees to join our Board.
Signal supports people who are Deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus, in the UK and internationally. We aim to break down barriers to inclusivity. We do this by challenging perceptions and improving access to healthcare, education, employment and services.
Duties & Time Commitment
Ensuring the charity’s focus on its purpose
Safeguarding the good name and values of the organisation
Ensuring that Signal complies with the charity law
Supporting Signal with individual skills and expertise, offering advice and guidance or leading on initiatives
Ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the organisation
Overseeing Signal’s financial stability and performance against targets
Attending a minimum of six forum meetings per year and committing to a minimum of ten hours per month.
Our ideal candidate We’re looking for someone with sound, independent judgement, common sense and diplomacy skills, who is passionate about the issues Signal seeks to address. You will have experience in one of these areas: International development, lived experience of Deafness, fundraising or legal expertise. Your outward focus towards other organisations, businesses and opportunities will help you act as an ambassador for Signal. This role can be home based, as meetings can take place via video call. We value experience, however we also like to encourage applications from people who are keen to learn. Trustee training will be provided.
