Opportunity Description
Why do we need you?
Following major redevelopment, The Anstice will be a community hub complete with café, library, meeting space and a beautiful sprung-floor ballroom. With a full programme of classes, activities and events, The Anstice hopes to once again be at the heart of the Madeley community. As a multi-functional facility, we are looking for volunteers with wide and varying knowledge, skills and experience.
The role of Workshop Facilitator is perfect for someone who would like to share their unique skill with the local community. This could be knitting, card-making, painting, clog-dancing or something entirely different! An apt teacher, you will be well-versed in sharing your skill with others. Our Workshop Facilitators will support us in promoting well-being, a healthy lifestyle and help to build friendships within the community. A DBS will be required for any workshops aimed towards children or vulnerable adults.
What activities will you be involved in?
- Facilitating not-for-profit workshops which align with our vision and values
- Providing engaging content for marketing via The Anstice channels
- Keeping a register of attendees
- Organising a deputy in the event of your absence
- Building a rapport with the local community
- Working as part of a team
What can you gain from this opportunity?
Volunteering with The Anstice can give you the opportunity to try something new, gain experience, develop skills, improve your career prospects, build confidence and meet new people.
The Anstice will provide you with an induction and any relevant training. All our volunteers have regular contact with the Community Outreach Manager, who offers support and guidance, supervision, and will provide a reference for any future roles you wish to pursue.
