Opportunity Description
Being a Day Centre Volunteer puts you right at the heart of our work. You will interact with older people and help to make their time with us feel extra special. You will help our clients to feel comfortable, supported and add the magic 'spark' that makes our support so personal.
You'll help us to run a wide range of fun, safe and engaging activities such as arts & crafts and games, in addition to serving tea, coffee and refreshments.

Main Organiser Duties:
Duties include organising: a small volunteer team, a variety of activities and outings for members. Offering company and friendship to the members.
General administrative duties including: liaising with Shropshire/Telford and Wrekin Age UK, overseeing duty of care to members and volunteers, managing the accounts.

Requirements
You should be able to demonstrate strong organisational abilities and good interpersonal skills. You will receive guidance and support from Age UK.
You will also need to receive some training (provided by Age UK) and provide references.
You will require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which we will organise for you.
More Info
Our group takes place every Wednesday at the Park Lane Centre, Woodside 9:15am -1:45pm. You will need to be available during this time each week. You will also need to spend some additional time each week on preparation and admin.
