A Royal Air Force Air Cadet (RAFAC) trustee (civilian committee member) plays a vital role in supporting the organisation by contributing to governance, fundraising, and community engagement. 

Responsible for overseeing activities and decisions of the squadron ensuring they align with RAFAC's objectives; managing non-public funds to support squadron activities and ensuring the organisation's financial sustainability; actively promoting RAFAC in the local community and supporting the squadron's mission.

Trustees come from various backgrounds and are encouraged to get involved and contribute to discussions and decisions.  They are essential to RAFAC's success and the continued development of young people in the community.

RAFAC is a national youth organisation primarily delivered by volunteers and trustees.  Operating across six regions and thirty-four wings, it offers young people aged 12-20 life-changing opportunities from flying and gliding to leadership, adventure training, and community projects, cadets build skills and confidence that last a lifetime. 

Behind every squadron is a team of trustees enabling the cadet experience. 

Whatever you bring to the table, however often you can help, volunteering with Scouts can change young people's lives.

No previous experience with young people? No problem.

Whether you'd like to help out week-after-week or whenever-you-can, we provide training, learning opportunities and cups of tea – every step of the way.

We need help with planning programmes, youth leadership, administration, behind-the-scenes support, equipment & site maintenance, trusteeship & adult leadership, communications & publicity, and more.

With 13 Groups across Shropshire Severn and Teme Scout District alone, we'll always be able to find an opportunity near you!

Helping our busy store team to move goods from collection to the shop floor, including sorting items for sale, function testing, health and safety checks of goods in and pricing items.

We can reimburse reasonable travelling expenses and we provide tea, coffee and biscuits. You will also be able to get a 25% discount on donated goods, and get access to an online discounts platform and virtual GP.

Our minimum age to volunteer is 17, but we can accept 16-year-olds through our work experience opportunity.

Local homelessness organisation, Maninplace are in need of friendly people to help customers to search for training and employment opportunities and help them to access any that are suitable.
