Volunteer Telford

Work alongside our staff teams to provide support to victims of crime helping them to move beyond crime via emotional and practical support both face to face and online Support in the process of enabling victims and perpetrators of crime to come together to collectively repair and find a positive way forward.

Approx. 3hrs per week

Chatterbox is our award-winning, flagship befriending service designed to support those who find themselves isolated, vulnerable, and/or alone in later life.

Volunteers with our Chatterbox programme are matched with a client, most of whom are socially isolated and/or lonely, with whom they organise a weekly phone call at a mutually convenient time. 

As well as offering a listening ear and companionship, our befrienders are able to sign post individuals to other agencies who may be able to offer further support as and when appropriate. We give our befrienders comprehensive training and support throughout their time with Omega.

All volunteering time with Chatterbox is completed from the comfort of your own home.

Luv2MeetU and HFT are a charity working with adults with learning disabilities and or autism to provide a fulfilling and engaging life to ensure the best possible experiences and individual requirements for the people we support.

Luv2MeetU (part of the HFT charity) are starting an exciting new programme of face to face and virtual events based at the HFT Forbes Close supported living housing.

We are looking for volunteers to help support any events or hospital/dentist appointments etc. by driving the people we support to where they need to go.

We will work with you depending on the time you have to give to ensure you benefit too either with something special for your CV, training or just knowing that you are helping immeasurably to enhance the lives of the adults we support.

With appointments the date and time cannot be changed so it would be brilliant for us if we could build up a bank of drivers so that we can eventually get to a place where we have a thriving community of adults we support being able to be even more independent whether it is an important appointment or a shopping trip to buy that special birthday present!

We are looking for

Young people between the age of 18 – 30

Have lived experience of disadvantaged or marginalisation

Or have experience of working with young people from these back grounds.

We would like our members to

Be a voice – Help us listen by being a voice for young people

Guide us – Provide insight into what young people need

Raise awareness – Help other young people understand our work

What’s involved?

Attend 4 meetings a year – normally last 1 – 2hours.

Learn about out work and help create change for young people

Meet other young people and share experiences

Develop your communication skills
