The School Houses B&B is where you can relax and enjoy escaping to idyllic countryside. We are in Chapel Lawn, close to historic Ludlow. The house was completely refurbished in 2016.

We have three spacious guest rooms, each of which has its own unique features with stunning views. All our luxurious rooms are en-suite and have super-king or king-size beds, home-from-home comforts and tasty goodies on your welcome tray. There is also a range of teas and coffees for your enjoyment. The rooms have a silent mini-fridge with fresh milk, and FreeSat TVs. The fluffy towels and complimentary Duck Island toiletries add that extra touch of luxury.

The two upstairs rooms are Caradoc and Brineddin. Caradoc, which is named after the hill opposite, is a spacious room which oozes character and has a super-king size bed. The en-suite has a large double ended bath and a separate walk-in shower. Brineddin, named after the ancient oak woodland behind the house is actually a suite. It comprises of the bedroom and a separate cosy lounge, as well as an en-suite shower room.

We are happy to welcome one well-behaved dog in our ground floor room, Redlake. The room, named after the river running through the village, is over 5m x 5m so there is plenty of space for guests and dogs alike. This room also has its own front door with access to the garden.

We do our best to source local produce from Shropshire and the surrounding area. Our breakfast choices include a variety of hot and cold options and features home-made granola, bread and preserves.

We can recommend plenty of fabulous eateries just a short drive away with good local food. If you prefer not to eat out, then why not try a ‘bedroom picnic’ – a selection of savoury and sweet goodies for you to enjoy in the comfort of your own room. You’re welcome to bring your own drink and we provide glasses and bottle openers on your welcome tray.

The School House Bed & Breakfast is ideally located for you to discover the beautiful county of Shropshire. We are within the Shropshire Hills AONB and there is great walking to be done on many of the nearby footpaths. The rocky outcrops of Long Mynd and the Stiperstones with their large heathlands are nearby.

Medieval Ludlow with its variety of markets, renowned restaurants and castle is close by. There are several other castles and historic houses such as Attingham Park, Stokesay Castle or Powis Castle within the area.

If you prefer to get out on two wheels we’re minutes from Hopton Woods with its downhill mountain biking routes. There are various road routes such as the Shropshire Cycleway which can easily be joined from Chapel Lawn. We can provide you with routes which go along with quiet Shropshire roads.
