Wellbeing Volunteer

Opportunity Description

At Beam, we provide a drop-in and appointment led service where children and Young people in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin can access advice and support on any concerns relating to mental and emotional well-being.

We are proud to be part of Bee-U, a network of emotional health and well-being organisations. Beam welcomes anyone under 25 who has something on their minds to come and talk to us and tell us how they're feeling.

For our drop in there is no need to get a referral or to make an appointment, just drop in. For our appointment led service young people and parents can go on line at https://www.childrenssociety.org.uk//beamshropshire  to request a session.

We also welcome parents and carers with concerns about a child or young persons emotional health and wellbeing to contact us, as well as other professionals. The Beam Team consists of therapists, youth workers and wellbeing volunteers who are here to listen.

We'll provide children and young people with practical support and suggestions tailored to suit their needs. We aim to address the feelings they are experiencing and suggest strategies to help them improve their emotional well-being.

Our Wellbeing Volunteers are a vital part of the service, supporting the young people on a one-to-one or group basis, giving them the direction and the confidence to make sound life choices and supporting them to have a voice in decisions which affect them.
