Along with learning all about this role, you can branch out and try other things. Whether it’s about the shop floor or behind the scenes, we will help you to learn as many skills as you want.

After you apply the manager will ask you to come in for an initial chat. This is not an interview, just a chance to get an idea of what you'd like to do in the shop.

From there you can meet the rest of the volunteer team and get involved with whatever area of the shop takes your interest!

Our event crew play an essential part in making sure our events and activities run smoothly and that all participants and supporters have fantastic experiences.

You can get stuck in setting up and stewarding events like the iconic Dragon Boat Festival, dramatic Fire and Ice Challenge and the poignant Lights of Love service – all of which help us generate vital funds to support our care services.

There are so many exciting opportunities to get involved from welcoming and registering participants, car parking, marshalling a route to handing out medals or running a merchandise stall.

It’s also a brilliant way to volunteer on an ad-hoc basis and can fit around busy lives. 

Housekeeping volunteers are central to creating a special warm, friendly and relaxed home-from-home environment for our patients and visitors to our wards at Apley Castle, Telford and Bicton, Shrewsbury.

It’s the special touches that count and you’ll be joining our fabulous team, who are the friendly faces on hand to make sure every need is met during their stay - from lovely soft linen and beautiful fresh flowers to serving drinks and meals, keeping the ward kitchen spick and span or simply being a bit of company and there for a chat.

Being on hand to help patients and visitors feel cared about and comfortable really does make all the difference and also helps our nursing staff to focus on personal and clinical care.

Ideally, you’ll be friendly, empathetic and helpful and able to regularly commit to a weekend shift.

For many children and young people living in foster care can be unsettling but having someone there just for them to take them to the cinema, bowling, bike riding or for hot chocolate and cake can make all the difference.

You can make that difference!

We are looking for fun, reliable, and enthusiastic volunteers from all different cultures, backgrounds and experiences who have a genuine interest in making a difference in the lives of children and young people.

If you are passionate about wanting to help young people, you have 2.5 - 4 hours to spare once a month and are ready to commit to a minimum of a 2-year volunteering commitment, this role could be right for you.

You’ll meet with a child or young person who is in care, to do a fun activity together.

You’ll help the young person to do what they enjoy and provide them with a positive adult role model. The consistent friendship helps the young person to build self-esteem, confidence, and resilience allows then to experience some stability in what is sometimes a changing environment.

Our Telford and Wrekin service is looking for adult volunteers in the area to meet with a young person once a month on a long-term basis or for as long as they want an Independent Visitor (Independent Visitor is the official Volunteer Title). 

Our young people are aged between 8 to 18.5 years old and we have a number of young people already waiting for this service.
