Volunteer Telford

Club 2000 Sport and Leisure exists for the benefit of people over 16 with physical and/or learning disabilities, to provide them with the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of sport and leisure activities. This happens on Thursday evenings 6.30-9pm, mostly during term time.

Duties would include assisting the Treasurer, recording incoming and outgoing funds on club evenings, bank reconciliation, applying for grants.

Cash Desk Volunteer

Could you be the friendly face of your local British Heart Foundation shop in Wellington, with support around you and full training provided, you will be processing sales through the till as a cashier, talking to customers and thanking every donor - helping us continue to fund lifesaving research.

This is a customer focussed role where you will meet and interact with a wide range of people.

We can accept volunteers from age 16.

We can reimburse reasonable travelling expenses and we provide tea, coffee and biscuits.

We are open 9.30am to 5pm Monday to Saturday

We are looking for

Young people between the age of 18 – 30

Have lived experience of disadvantaged or marginalisation

Or have experience of working with young people from these back grounds.

Guide us – Provide insight into what young people need

Raise awareness – Help other young people understand our work

What’s involved?

Attend 4 meetings a year – normally last 1 – 2hours.

Learn about out work and help create change for young people

Meet other young people and share experiences

Develop your communication skills

To support the Family Group Conference (FGC) service in promoting the voice of the child, helping them prepare for the FGC and supporting them during the FGC meeting.

The Family Group Conference Volunteer Advocate scheme aims to provide volunteer opportunities that meet the needs of both the service and the young people and families we work with. The volunteer opportunities are varied and interesting.

Hold a number of preparation sessions with the child, young person or vulnerable adult, to explore how they feel about attending the FGC, their views on the current situation and identify what they would like to discuss with their family at the FGC.

Attend the FGC meeting to support the child, young person or vulnerable adult to help them express how they feel about the situation and be part of the planning process.

If the child, young person or vulnerable adult chooses not to attend then the ambassador will need to attend on their behalf and discuss their views and wishes with the family.
