Volunteer Telford

We're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive person to help promote our work and encourage new volunteers.

We are always involved with very positive projects and events and we want to spread this message with the wider community of Telford and we’re looking for the right person to help us do this.

You will be involved in generating press releases and advertisements of our work and lead the communication with newspapers, radio, local magazines and work with our Web Manager to promote things on social media and our website.

The Youth Offending Service are calling on volunteers to join a community panel, supporting young offenders on a court order to help prevent further offending.

Community Panel Members come from all sections of the local community and no specific educational qualifications are required. It is an important part of the Youth Justice system, and features highly on the Government's agenda.

Responsibilities:
• To meet with a young person on a court order, as part of a Community Panel, negotiate and oversee a contract that will reduce their offending and oversee that contract till its completion, amending, adjusting and if necessary returning the young person to court.
• To attend and participate fully in supervision sessions as required.
• To follow relevant policies and procedures as laid down by the Youth Offending Service in the delivery of the role.
• Panel Members will be expected to commit to panels for a minimum of 12 months by negotiation.
• Panel Meetings will take place at different times during the day and evening at various venues around Hereford Worcestershire and Shropshire.

Training will be provided in conjunction with our mentoring scheme.

Expenses will be reimbursed.

The Hub on the Hill is going to be opening, once a month, the “Memory Lane” Café for individuals who care for or experience the effects of Dementia. In doing so we are looking for members of the local community who can volunteer their time to support this new venture. Are you interested? If so ask yourself these questions:

- Do you want to support the Hub on the Hill, and get involved in community projects?

- Do you have a few spare hours once a month on a Tuesday between the hours of 10.00 and 12.30pm

- Do you have experience, or have supported individuals with Dementia in the past, or are just interested in making a difference to someone’s life living with Dementia or caring for someone with Dementia  

- Do you have any hidden talents, such as arts and crafts, singing, story telling and knowledge of the local area?

Online selling is a fast growing and exciting way to retail in the digital age, so if you would like to get involved in this, come join us at your local BHF shop and help create online sales listings to promote the varied items that we sell.

Maybe you already know your way around online selling platforms or maybe it’s something you want to find out more about, either way you will be fully supported in this role to make sure you develop the skills and experience needed to become an expert online Lister.

Get the satisfaction of seeing the items you list sell for the best possible prices, knowing this will be helping us continue to fund lifesaving research.

We can accept volunteers from age 16.

We can reimburse reasonable travelling expenses and we provide tea, coffee and biscuits.

We are open 9.30am to 5pm Monday to Saturday
